Has Apple changed its focus with Project Titan
Automechanika 2016 has had a great deal of focus on technology in the lead up to and throughout the event. One of the hottest rumors circulating the halls is that after several years of development, huge R & D investment, and some extremely high profile staff recruitment from competitors such as Tesla, Google and Samsung, it seems Apple has changed tack. It has sacked a large portion of the team working on its autonomous car (dubbed Project Titan) and reassigned others to focus on the underlying software and systems.
Project Titan, which has operated from a top-secret facility in Sunnyvale, Calififornia, was aiming to have an electric car ready to ship by 2020, but that timeline was apparently overly optimistic.
Time for JTAPE to put its Apple Car fine lining kit on hold.Â
